Attention Span: The Sleepover

Produced in 2012, The Sleepover was a proof-of-concept for a feature that has yet to materialize.

Imagine a world where slasher movies are real, and they’re all set in your hometown.

It’s an original idea done quite well, except for one thing. All of the characters are archetypes. For a short, it’s tolerable but in a feature, they’d wear thin quickly.

Such a fantastical setting needs some realism to balance it out, to accentuate the absurdity. Otherwise, it’s all part of a fairy tale that I can’t imagine myself in.

I would like to see this as a feature, but it has to feel real or it just won’t work.
